"Modernity" - this is the meaning of "Hyundai" in the Korean language. Hyundai Motor Company birth dates back to 1967: founded by Ju-Yung Chung (father of current Chairman & CEO Mong-Koo Chung), who initially worked as a licensed assembler of a Ford model. In 1974, Hyundai decided to develop its first car: the Pony, which became soon a long-lasting success model, thanks to the contribution of Italian design by Giorgetto Giugiaro.

In just 50 years, Hyundai has asserted its presence among the leading car manufacturers in sustainable mobility, with a unique offering range from full hybrid to hydrogen, passing through electric and plug-in hybrid.
