Open House Milano 2025

Lifestyle — 12 May 2025

From major urban renewal projects to private homes, from architecture studios to cultural venues—over 100 places open for free to the public

On Saturday 17 and Sunday 18 May, Open House Milano is back! For one weekend only, you’ll get the chance to explore hidden spaces across the city—places that are usually off-limits—and see a different, more authentic side of Milan.
To mark its 10th anniversary, this year’s edition features more than 100 free-access locations. The theme for 2025, “In a relationship”, shines a light on the connections between architecture and people, past and future, buildings and community. Part of the global Open House Worldwide network—active in 55 cities—this is the biggest international festival celebrating architecture and urban spaces.

The program covers all six historic districts of Milan—Porta Orientale, Romana, Ticinese, Vercellina, Nuova, and Comasina—and includes themed routes exploring how the city is changing, socially and culturally. Must-sees include the urban regeneration projects SYRE and EASY in the San Siro area, designed by Studio Marco Piva and developed by AXA IM Alts, and the transformation of Piazzale Loreto with the LOC project by Nhood Italia, turning it into a new green square. Open House Europe’s special focus this year is “Future Heritage”, asking what heritage means today. Featured sites include the former slaughterhouse complex (ARIA), Pirelli 35, Casa della Memoria, Fornace Curti, and the colorful Torre Arcobaleno.

You’ll also get rare access to some of Milan’s top architecture studios—like ACPV Architects, Park Associati, Barreca & La Varra, and Progetto CMR—as well as more intimate, symbolic spaces like the studios of Franco Raggi, Daniela Puppa, and the little-known Scandurra Studio. Among the institutional spaces opening up are the Corriere della Sera building and its printing center in Pessano, RAI’s studios on Corso Sempione, and Villaggio Barona, a great example of social housing done right. Iconic buildings like the Diamond Tower, Monterosa 91, Casa Rustici, and Palazzina INA will be open, as well as cultural venues like Factory 32, the Milan Auditorium, and the Teatro alla Scala workshops.

There’s also lots to discover inside: private homes, artist studios, and unique interiors such as Casa Cescolina², Casa degli Archi Ritrovati, Vito Nesta’s space, and showrooms like Archiproducts Milano and Listone Giordano Arena. Not to mention design hotels and hybrid spaces like Nhow Milano and CX Bicocca, plus a rich art trail featuring private collections and galleries like Collezione Iannaccone, spazioSERRA, Espinasse 31, and the historic Casa del Petrarca.
