Fuorisalone POSTCARDS: Giacomo Moor’s Beloved Summer Destination

Lifestyle — 26 June 2025

A journey through the most cherished summer spots of a group of creatives—personal memories, hidden corners, and places waiting to be discovere

Summer has just begun, bringing with it the desire to slow down, take off, and find spaces that—though far away—still feel like home. There are places that, somehow, belong to us: glimpses that carry the scent of childhood, freedom, and lighthearted promises. Places of the heart and memory, where returning feels like a small ritual that brings us peace.
We asked a group of creatives—designers, curators, architects, collectors—to share their favorite summer destinations: personal places, rich in memories, habits, and inspiration. The result is a heartfelt series of postcards, each accompanied by semi-secret tips and recommendations, to read with curiosity and save for future adventures.

We begin with Giacomo Moor, a designer who works with companies and galleries, and who runs a carpentry workshop inside his studio, where he creates custom furniture and interiors for his clients.

What is your favorite summer destination?
Sesto, in Val Pusteria
. It’s the place of my childhood, where I still go today—with my children and my father—to fish and forage for mushrooms. I’m enchanted by its beauty, the sense of calm and silence, the pristine nature, and the landscapes that force you into a different relationship with the passing of time.

Any hidden gems to discover there?
1. Where I always stay: Gasthof Waldruhe. It’s isolated from the village, almost 1,600 meters above sea level, entirely built of wood. Inside, there's a great restaurant run by the owners.
2. The Anterselva Valley and its enchanted lake. As a kid, I once tried to secretly drive my parents’ car and nearly ended up in the water.
3. The Großglockner mountain in Austria, with its vast forests where I love to get lost for hours.
4. Pianozes Lake, nestled in the Ampezzo Dolomites.

Your secret spot?
The riverbank in Anterselva, where I learned to fish as a child.
