Experiencing the alpine spirit of the Olympic and Paralympic Games in three pop-up spaces in Milan, Cortina, and Bormio

During the Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games, House of Switzerland Italia stands out as one of the symbolic venues where visitors can experience the event beyond sports competition. It celebrates the Swiss alpine spirit through cultural content, installations, and events.
The project comes to life through three pop-up spaces open to the public in Milan, Cortina d’Ampezzo, and Bormio. With free entry and no registration required, visitors can watch live competitions on large screens, cheer for athletes, celebrate medal wins, and share the Olympic atmosphere. House of Switzerland Italia, Switzerland’s national platform within the Olympic and Paralympic context, also presents itself as a journey into the Alps as a space of life and culture at the heart of Europe. A rich program of events, guided by the central theme “Flora Alpina,” invites reflection on the future of the Alpine region and offers inspiration through the Swiss approach to innovation and sustainability.

Milan: installations and cultural events
Open from February 4 to 22, 2026 (Monday-Sunday, 10 am-10 pm)

The Milan program opens on February 4 at 5 pm with an inaugural event accompanied by a rich musical program. House of Switzerland Italia is hosted at the Centro Svizzero on Via Palestro, where part of the space is transformed through the “Flora Alpina” installation. The courtyard and the Swiss Corner restaurant become a colorful, welcoming environment that brings alpine spirit into the city and offers a shared space to experience the Games. At the heart of the installation is an Alpine Garden, designed as a place for relaxation and reconnection with nature. Alongside it, the exhibition “Come si muovono le nuvole”, created by the Academy of Architecture of the Università della Svizzera italiana (USI), introduces a research-based interpretation of the landscape, exploring the relationship between the alpine environment, transformation, and perception, where architecture and nature meet in a cultural perspective.
