NABA TALKS. From word to object—a dialogue between language, art and design: Spaces define our behaviors and are the result of structures that intertwine power, language and bodies. The houses, their organization and the objects they contain are the product of a precise gender construction and contribute to its reproduction. Observing the changes - even in the languages we use to describe them - allows us to read the political transformations and imagine unexpected futures.  Carlotta Cossutta, researcher in political philosophy at the State University of Milan and part of the Politesse – Politics and theories of sexuality research center at the University of Verona, is the guest of the fourth and final appointment of the series of meetings promoted by NABA, New Academy of Fine Arts: NABA TALKS. From word to object - dialogue between language, art and design. Introduced by Simone Domenico Liscio.

ADI Design Museum
Piazza Compasso d'Oro 1

The exhibition entitled “ORIGIN of SIMPLICITY. 20 Visions of Japanese Design” is a transversal overview through design and craftsmanship in order to understand the origins of the very concept of simplicity, which can be interpretated as emptiness (ku), space or silence (ma), sometimes readable as poverty (wabi) and consumption linked to use over time (sabi), and on other occasions as asymmetry, non-definition and imperfection: all concepts rooted in diverse philosophical schools of thought belonging to this culture ranging from Zen Buddhism to Shinto animist thought and almost the opposite of Western rationality.

Portraits of friends that he archived and preserved in large ring books, the first ‘Faces Books’ in the history of creativity in Milan.
‘Polaroid Party’ is an exhibition that remembers those who made Milan and Italian design great through the memory of those who were and still are friends.

In dialogue with the designers there will also be Chiara Novello and Alessia Pessano, owners of the A/C studio, who will design the exhibition La casa imperfetta (The Imperfect House), curated by Marco Sammicheli, Director of the Triennale Milano Italian Design Museum and moderator of the meeting.
